  1. Wow, Jay, wow! What a great episode!

Thanks for the honest take on “The Turning” (you know I’m a HUGE fan of “The Innocents” (1961) – I think it was the best horror movie of its time, and the script (Truman Capote – based on Henry James) is so propulsive and well-crafted it still holds up).

One of the things I love dearly about “The Innocents” is how scary the movie *sounds*. That creepy song, early use of synthesizer in the score, and the terrific sound design.

BTW, anyone reading this who is interested in scary sounds, I published a collection of short horror stories a couple of months ago that is about exactly that! Pick it up here: The Sound of Fear https://www.amazon.com/dp/1694373576/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tDDnEbN1TCYFY

I loved your discussion of “High Noon” with Mack. I like Westerns, yet regretfully have never seen this. I’ll see it–you don’t need to movie-shame me!

I hope you have Mack back for another guest spot soon.

I hope all is well w/you. Keep up the great work.

    Best,
    VV

  3. Hi Jay,

Enjoyed the previous episode, always good to hear from Dr Shock. his youtube videos are great. Halfway through this episode of the podcast and enjoying it so far, so thank you! Couple of documentary recommendations which you may be interested in if you haven’t seen them already… “Holy Hell” about a cult and “The Sunshine Makers” about LSD. I think they may be up your street (and Josh’s). Both are on Netflix and are very interesting viewing!

As always keep up the good work 🙂
    Cheers Ollie

  4. Would it be possible to get your podcast onto Stitcher? I’ve switched to their app due to issues with others I’ve used. I miss listening and cant find you over there.
