  1. I have always enjoyed Saw up until the 3rd/4th one. But whenever I tried watching 5-7 I got lost in the story. I heard y’all were reviewing this so I grabbed the blu ray collection for $10 at bestbuy. So I am eager to try and rewatch them and see if I can focus in the latter part of the series. The Spiral trailer sounded pretty serious and reminded me of Zahlers tone in his Mean Business on North Ganson Street book.

  2. Really great episode!

Regarding the shotgun chair in ‘Saw 5’, there are double barrel shotguns with two triggers like Jay was reasoning, but they’re more like front and back triggers rather than side to side. You can see the two triggers in the movie closeups of the gun if you’re looking for it. With the triggers the shooter and control which barrel fires, so there can be a Russian roulette scenario like Billchette was asking about.

There is a continuity error in the scene because we see the shotgun has the front trigger rigged with the string and we see Jigsaw pull the front trigger. When Jigsaw later opens the gun we see only the left chamber is loaded; well, that’s the side that was supposed to fire when the front trigger was pulled.

    • BillChette, it’s so cool to talk with you in the comments. I just want to say I really appreciate your podcasting work and I always look out for the BillChette horror movie review before I decide to buy, rent, or watch a horror movie. The show you’re doing with Jay and Phantom now is totally awesome!
