  1. Hey Jason, great to hear from your podcast again; even greater to hear that there is a “tidal wave” of new content coming our way. I’ve strapped myself to a tree Petra Nemcova-style and am waiting eagerly.

While I was listening to your review of The Rental, an Instagram trailer arrived on my feed regarding the film. It began by stating, “The Number One Movie in America”. After further research, The Rental is indeed the top performer in the Box Office this past weekend with a whopping 0.4M! This year is really putting the BUST in summer blockBUSTer!

I must say, however, your teaser for your July 30th episode got me quite a bit more excited than any Rental-related content. There’s only one thing that could possibly be, and I won’t be the one to spoil it. For now, we can just refer to it as “The Episode We Don’t Speak Of”. Hope said episode is a bit longer than this one, however. One hour is only a small dent in my work day. Stay Safe.

    • Inbred Coop!
I almost spit out my drink laughing when you wrote, “The Episode We Don’t Speak Of” … ha ha ha ha Sheer brilliance. Exactly correct. In fact, I posted it today (July 30 — the 16-year anniversary of the release of “The Village”). Here it is:
      https://www.consideringthecinema.com/considering-the-cinema-ep-032-why-m-night-shyamalans-the-village-2004-is-a-masterpiece/

But to tell the truth, your Petra Němcová reference was even more impressive! You have a frightening command of pulp culture knowledge! ha ha Speaking of tsunamis, did you ever see the film “The Impossible” (2012). Wow… Real-life Horror.

Yeah, “The Rental” is fine if you have nothing else to do — or you’ve been on a five-month fast from theater releases. I don’t want to give any podcast spoilers, but you’ll be hearing another review of it soon on One Badass Horror Podcast… (If you listen, that is.) I don’t want to be presumptive. ; )

If you get bored during that Village episode, you can bail and I won’t be offended. ha ha I recommend Sections 3 and 4 with Josh and Mack, but I am very indulgent in my gushing, as I warn in the episode… 3 hours, 17 min. Thanks for writing!

  2. I watched The Pool because it was a “killer crocodile” movie, but as it progressed I thought to myself, “Oh, this is one of those Jay of the Dead movies.” Lol. But yeah, it was kinda ridiculous. And those manhole covers are extremely heavy. It took me and one of my buddies to lift one up (because movies make the sewer look like a really cool place. *spoiler, it’s not.) I’m definitely going to look through my old vhs collection to see if there’s anything there for you, besides all the Land Before Time movies. Lol. Thanks for the great episode!

    • Dr. Acula!
You made me smile when you referred to that Creature Feature (Beastly Freak) movie as “one of those Jay of the Dead movies.” ha ha ha ha Damn right! You make me proud and do my heart good.

I would be HONORED to get a VHS (autographed, I hope) from Dr. Acula’s collection. No pressure, but if you send it, I’ll review it. The more offbeat, the better. ; )

      Thanks for listening!
      -J

    • Thanks for saying that, Evening Grindhouse.

I’m not whining one bit, but I’ve literally spent 24 of the past 48 hours getting Episode 032 published on this special day (July 30, The Village anniversary). So, reading that you said you’re looking forward to the upcoming episodes genuinely re-charges my batteries to get cracking on my editing for Ep. 033! ha ha

      Thanks again!
      -J
